Welcome to Maui, the second largest island in the Hawaiian chain. Here, one will find beautiful beaches, beautiful people, and a world outside the ones they used to have in the city. But, there is much more to the island then meets the eye. Between teens and adults alike, there is scandal, rumor spreading, and mysterious histories that could shock anyone. Many people come here as an escape, to blend in with the natives and get away from the haunting memories of their past. They are all hiding something, what are you hiding?

An Activity Check is in progress until August 29th!!

[ ]Honolua Bay
The beautiful Honolua Bay is located off the northwest shore of the island. It has brilliant blue waters, white beaches and is a favorite place to go of both tourists and locals.

[ ]Napili Plaza
Napili Plaza is a rather large circle of shops and business surrounding a large water fountain with stone walkways, trees, and benches around it. Here, you can find all different kinds of stores from boutiques to clothing stores to small businesses. Just outside the plaza some people like to set up stands for food. It is only a couple miles away from the ocean, so there is a nice breeze here.

[ ]Restaurants (2 sub-boards)
Here is where you can find all of the places to eat. Hawaiian's love their food, and so do the tourists that visit. You can get fruit and tropical drinks almost anywhere, along with many other dishes that are common in Maui and those common in the rest of the United States.

[ ]Akamai Hospital
Akamai Hospital is home to the most skilled doctors you will find on the island. Anyone can come here from problems ranging from deadly to a yearly check-up. Those in East Maui have to be brought here by helicopter if seriously injured. The only problem is, it's far.
00
[ ]Sheraton Mall
Though not as big as the malls you may find in New York City, Sheraton is large none the less. It offers a wide variety of stores, a food court, and a movie theater for anyone who wants to see the latest flick. On weekends, many teens and young adults go back and forth between hanging out here and at the beach surfing, with friends of course.

[ ]Makai Nightclub
Makai Nightclub is one of the hottest places to be after the sun goes down. There are three floors, all usually crowded people, and live bands that play every night along with a DJ. However, no underaged kids are allowed because of alcohol, at least not unless you have a fake ID.
00
[ ]Kaanapali Beach (1 sub-board)
Even though many locals and tourists love the Honolua Bay, more people will be found here at any time of the year. The beaches are longer and there are more lifeguards here since there are more people. Every now and again there may be a few carts on the beach set up for people to buy water or food, and many come here to surf.

[ ]Nohea Kai Drive (1 sub-board)
Nohea Kai Drive is located right next to the beach, meaning that this is where the richest people on the island live. Those who value quantity over quality have large, grand beach houses that anyone would be envious of. Others do not like to be so flamboyant with their belongings, but have lots of money all the same.

[ ]Kekaa Drive (2 sub-boards)
A little further away from the beach, this are where those not as priviledged as the upperclassmen live. In other words, most middle class citizens who are comfortable and not extravagantly wealthy live here. For children it is nice, because near the end of the road is a park for them to play.

[ ]Kauwahi Apartments (1 sub-board)
This five-story apartment building is located in perfect view of the beach, for those on the upper levels anyhow. Most of the rooms have one bedroom and one bathroom, though some have two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a great location, only a walking distance from the water and it is surrounding by great restaurants. Those who live here love it.

East Maui
[ ]Haleakala National Park (3 sub-boards)
A large portion of east Maui is Haleakala National Park. The park cares for endangered animals and protects the bond between the land and its people. The park has a variety of landscapes including volcanic, sub-tropical rainforests, and back country. Visiters are always welcome.
00
[ ]Straight Away
Though this section of the National Park isn't exactly "straight," it is what the street racers call it. It is located along the side of a mountain and has many twist and turns allowing for a different kind of racing. Drifters love it, but those used to rergular street racing often have a hard time in the beginning while participating in the illegal activity.
00
[ ]Hana Bay
Hana Bay is smaller than Honolua Bay, but beloved by the locals none the less. People come here for a quiet afternoon to sit by the water and read a book or to have fun with their friends. On weekends, people like to make bonfires and harmlessly party late into the night.

[ ]Ke Aloha Café
Ke Aloha Café is a small café that serves pastries, sandwhiches, beverages, and many other things. It is not ocean front, but there is a patio with tables and chairs outside so you can sit and eat in the breeze carried off the water. Everyone loves this place, and after you try eating here once you will only want more.

[ ]Ho'okipa Clinic
On this side of the island, there are no big hospitals to go to in a real emergency. For those kinds of problems, patients have to be airlifted to West Maui. However, the people in the clinic are very friendly and will help with all they can.
00
[ ]Kai Beach
Kai Beach is just as beautiful a beach as those on the other side of Maui, arguably more beautiful by those who live near it. People come here often so have fun with friends on the beach and in the clean water. Though the waves for surfing are not as good as on the West side, there are still plenty.

[ ]Menehune Park
Menehune Park is three acres of grass, trees, picnic tables, and streams and two acres of playing equipement for children. Young adults come here on weekends to drink and socialize, and teens come to hang out and do a variety of things. There are often barbeques or events that attract a lot of people.

[ ]Sky Lanes Bowling Alley
The East side of Maui may not be as commercial, but it is home to one of the funnest places to be on a weekend night. If you come here after 8 o'clock, all of the lights are turned off and replaced with lazer lights, which is very popular among both kids and adults.

[ ]Keanae Drive (1 sub-board)
Keanae Drive is home to many people, of all incomes. It runs close to the eastern shoreline, so there is a beautiful view of the ocean. The only problem is, since this side of the island is less commercial you can't just get up and walk to the store.

[ ]Hokeo Apartments
Hokeo Apartments is much like the apartment buildings on the West side of the island, only there are not as many floors. People who live here are lucky, because they get a view of the ocean not blocked by other tall buildings. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, and the cost is affordable.

Other Nearby Islands
[ ]Moloka'i
Of the islands near Maui, Molokai is the biggest. It is often called the "Friendly Island" because of its Aloha spirit and, in tourist brochures, is said to be the real Hawaii. Many natives of Maui have relatives that live in Molokai, and often go over for the weekend to visit. The lights of Honolulu are visible at night from the west end of Moloka'i, while nearby Lana'i and Maui are clearly visible from anywhere along the south shore of the Island.
00
[ ]Lana'i (1 sub-board)
Lana'i is a smaller island than Molokai and located to the west of Maui. Known as the Pinapple Island from its history of Pineapple Plantations, Lana'i tourism has only started more recently, so tourists will not be as prevelent as on the other islands. Any landmarks that you want to see here will have to be found by travelling dirt roads.
00
[ ]Kaho'olawe
Kaho'olawe is the smallest of the 8 main volcanic islands in the Hawaiian Islands and is located only seven miles southwest of Maui. There are no permanent residents on this island, because the Kaho'olawe Island Reserve act was established in 1993. Now, locals may take a trip out to the island at times for fishing or anything else non-commericial.

Did you miss your dish on the latest gossip around Maui? Come here to check it out. Maui's own anonymous gossip columnist writes a column featuring the people around town and what drama is happening in their lives. Don't worry, everyone will get the chance to be the center of attention. Only the anonymous columnist can post in this board.
